Mathematical Sciences Society
About
The University of Alberta Mathematical Sciences Society aims to provide a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for all students interested in the mathematical and statistical sciences to explore their interests, pursue their passions, and collaborate with their peers, regardless of their particular area of study. We encourage senior undergrads to act as mentors to those just beginning their post-secondary careers and regularly host events such as talks and competitions. Further, members of the math society are encouraged to think creatively about math and explore topics outside the scope of undergraduate coursework. Such pursuits are often facilitated by discussion and collaboration, and members should feel welcome to present their work to the Society and the Department.
