The Child Advocacy Society of the University of Alberta
About
The Child Advocacy Society at the University of Alberta (CASUA) firmly believes that student advocacy can play an important role in the social response to abuse. Our group will work in close partnership with the Zebra Child Protection Centre in a number of capacities with three overarching goals in mind:
1) Raise awareness and promote education on the topic of child abuse
both within the university and in the wider community.
2) Carry out fundraising activities with the proceeds going to assist the
efforts of Child Advocacy Centres and other organizations devoted
towards promoting child welfare and combating abuse.
3) Connect interested students with volunteer and/or employment
opportunities in the field of child advocacy and welfare.
We are committed to empowering our student members to grow and develop/use their unique talents and skills to help every child
grow up free from abuse, but also to help those who have encountered abuse to get their story heard and access the services that child advocacy centres provide.
